A-t-t-e-n-d-a-n-c-e (Daily)
When all students are here, the class earns a letter for Attendance. When the whole word is spelled out, we earn a reward that is voted on by the class. The office will also reward the students after 10 days of perfect attendance, but for the office reward there can be no tardies. |
Student of the Week
(Every Friday) Each teacher picks a Student of the Week who has shown great effort or kindness that week. Student names are called on the announcements at the end of the day on Friday. They go down to the office to earn a small prize. |
3 Rs Student (Monthly)
At our schoolhouse meetings, each adult picks one student who has shown the 3 Rs: Readiness, Responsibility, and Respect. Students earn two horseshoes and get their picture displayed in the front hallway. |
Stellar Students (Each 9 Weeks)
5 students are chosen each nine weeks based on behavior, work skills, and effort (not necessarily grades). Mrs. Rizzo typically picks different students each nine weeks. Students along with their family are invited to a Stellar Student Breakfast at the end of the nine weeks. |
Honor Roll
Students will receive a certificate for As and As/Bs each nine weeks. At the end of the year, there is an Honor Roll Assembly for students who earned Honor Roll for 3 of the 4 nine weeks. |

What to do when you lose a game!
Helpful things to say or think . . . "It's just a game." "Maybe I'll win next time." "That was a good game." "Congratulations."
Helpful things to do . . . Shake hands with the winner. Say good job and take deep breaths and walk away if you are angry.

The Four Bs (Ways to Handle Peer Pressure)
BEWARE: Ask Questions - Why are you doing that? What is that?
BAD IDEA : I don't want to do that. I think that might get us in trouble.
“No thanks, I’m good!”
BETTER IDEA: Suggest an idea that won't get you in trouble. Distract them.
BYE FOR NOW: If they keep wanting you to make a bad choice, say no and walk away.
